TDSAT orders Bharti to reopen its network to RCOM

13 Nov 2012

The Telecom Disputes Settlements and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has issued an interim order instructing Bharti Airtel to restore SMS interconnection with Reliance Communications (RCOM), the Economic Times reports. Bharti has been told to restore SMS interconnection with RCOM until a hearing on 22 November to resolve the matter. As previously reported by CommsUpdate, Bharti closed its network to incoming SMS from the networks of Aircel or RCOM, over claims that the duo were flooding its network with ‘free spam messages’, which are negatively impacting the quality of service to the cellco’s own customers.
