13 Nov 2012

Samoa’s leading fixed and mobile operator BlueSky Samoa (formerly SamoaTel) has launched what it claims is the island’s first IPTV service – Moana TV – using its ADSL network to offer customers 23 channels of broadcasting via set-top boxes to their homes. The new service costs USD60 per month and includes a selection of channels ranging from ESPN to CNN, Disney Channel, MTV China and the Discovery Channel – as well as video on demand (VoD). At launch, BlueSky’s IPTV service is being rolled out at 50 test locations, with the full-blown commercial offering being made available to selected residents and businesses from next month.
