Rogers upping speeds across range

8 Nov 2012

Canada’s Rogers Communications has announced that it is increasing connection speeds across its cable broadband package range, including upping maximum speeds to 150Mbps (download) for subscribers in markets across Ontario. By the end of the year Rogers says the new Ultimate tier, recently doubled to 150Mbps, is scheduled to be available to ‘most’ customers (with a monthly data allowance of 250GB). Additionally, from 7 November 2012 Rogers began automatically upgrading Extreme Plus, Extreme and Express internet tiers for customers with DOCSIS 3.0 capabilities; Extreme Plus download speeds will increase from 32Mbps to 45Mbps; Extreme download speeds will increase from 28Mbps to 35Mbps; and Express download speeds will increase from 18Mbps to 25Mbps. To benefit from the new speed availability, Rogers’ customers with DOCSIS 2.0 modems are encouraged to upgrade their equipment.
