Officials from Turkish mobile network operator Turkcell were among those involved in the Belarusian government’s presentation on the sale of a stake in MTS Belarus, its joint venture with Russian group Mobile TeleSystems (MTS). Prime-Tass reports that MTS, which owns 49% of the unit, itself did not attend the meeting in the capital Minsk. The government is looking to sell its 51% holding and is hoping for USD1 billion for the asset.
