Wind confirms ForthNet offer

29 Oct 2012

Greek alternative telco Wind Hellas revealed on Friday that it has submitted an offer to acquire the telecoms division of rival fixed line and broadband network operator ForthNet. Wind, which is the country’s largest alternative fixed telephony provider by users and also the third largest mobile network operator, confirmed that it had tabled a bid which excludes the satellite pay-TV operations of ForthNet, which is Greece’s leading alternative fixed broadband provider by subscribers. As reported by ekathimerini.com, ForthNet also stressed on Friday that it had exchanged non-binding proposals with Wind. The latest news follows reports of a long-running dialogue between the two companies which sources had said were expected to conclude by the end of October.
