Scartel may open 4G network to other operators

Russian business daily Vedemosti reports that wireless broadband provider Scartel, which trades under the Yota brand, is preparing to open its network to more operators. The company’s network is currently used by only Scartel itself and MegaFon. However, although Rostelecom, MTS, Vimpelcom and MegaFon all secured 4G spectrum in July, the bandwidth has yet to be converted from military use, leading to speculation that more operators will seek to provide 4G services via Scartel’s network.
