Netflix launches in Sweden

16 Oct 2012

US-based online video streaming provider Netflix launched services in Sweden yesterday, and says it plans similar launches in Norway, Denmark and Finland later this year. Swedes are being offered a one-month free trial of the TV content and movie service, while paying customers of music streaming service Spotify can get free access to Netflix until the end of this year, reports Dow Jones Newswires. The newcomer will compete against local on-demand providers including Modern Time Group’s ViaPlay service.
