Infrastructure-based telecoms solution provider GTS Central Europe (GTS) has teamed up with Belarusian incumbent Beltelecom to extend its DWDM fibre-optic network to the capital, Minsk. Telecom Tiger writes that the 600km route directly connects Warsaw and Minsk, offering the shortest possible connection to ensure a low latency solution to the region. GTS, which is active is central and eastern Europe, says its new system is based on ‘non-compensated coherent technology’, has a capacity of 80 channels, each of which utilises 100G lambda resulting in an overall maximum capacity of 8Tbps.
