9 Oct 2012

Babilon-Mobile, Tajikistan’s largest mobile network operator in terms of subscribers, has announced the launch of commercial Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in the capital Dushanbe. While the operator did not reveal any details of the spectrum it is using to provide the 4G services in the news release announcing the launch, it has confirmed that it is offering Huawei’s E398 USB modem for those customers looking to sign up to the service. The device – which will reportedly work with Windows 7, Vista and XP, as well as Mac and Linux – will cost TJS400 (USD83.9), but details of the tariffs themselves were not available online.
