SaskTel told it can keep wireless broadband spectrum until March 2014

Canada’s federal government has told SaskTel that it will not take back the broadband spectrum the company uses for its wireless internet service until the end of March 2014. Previous reports indicated that the frequencies might be reclaimed at the end of 2012, ahead of 4G licence re-auctioning in 2013/14. The extension is believed to have been granted following an outcry from many rural residents who argued that they purchased expensive new equipment for the service.
