Pan-European operator GTS CE selects Overture for Ethernet services in central Europe

18 Sep 2012

GTS CE, a pan-European service provider supplying business and wholesale services in central and eastern Europe, has selected Overture Networks as a key equipment supplier of its Ethernet-over-copper (EoC) network. The altnet is deploying EoC services in the Czech Republic as well as in Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Poland. The new infrastructure will serve around 40,000 retail business customers in those markets. Commenting on the tie-up with Overture, GTS CE chief technical officer Ignacio Irurita said: ‘Configuring our network for uniform service delivery in multiple markets, across an array of access technologies required finding a partner able to provide the best solution at the right cost … The decision to go with Overture has been a very good one; the quality of the product in the field has been excellent; it’s very reliable.’

Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, BENESTRA (formerly GTS Slovakia), GTS Czech (part of T-Mobile CR), GTS Hungary (part of Magyar Telekom), GTS Telecom (Romania)
