Etisalat Misr sets aside USD500 million for network upgrade

Egypt’s smallest cellco by subscribers, Etisalat Misr, has revealed that it expects to spend approximately USD500 million on developing and modernising its existing network, while the investment will also reportedly help fund the rollout of Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. Zawya cites Etisalat Misr CEO Saeed Al Hamli as saying that his company is currently waiting for bids for the upgrade project from interested vendors, while also noting that preliminary testing has been conducted for parts of the project.
