Virgin launches in Poland

UK-backed mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Virgin Mobile yesterday launched a commercial pre-paid service in Poland over the networks of Orange Poland and P4 (Play). Virgin Mobile Polska – which is majority owned by Richard Branson’s Virgin group with a minority stake held by Polish technology venture Dirlango – has set a target of signing up over a million customers within three years. Virgin’s Central & Eastern Europe division is currently planning to launch MVNOs in Turkey, Russia and Hungary amongst other countries.
