Sunrise posts second quarter results

23 Aug 2012

Swiss operator Sunrise has announced revenues of CHF513.8 million (USD533.5 million) for the second quarter, up by more than 5% year-on-year following a 16% hike in sales from landline services. The gains partly reflect the acquisition in November 2011 of NextiraOne Switzerland (now called Business Sunrise Enterprise Solutions). In organic terms, sales grew by approximately 2%, largely due to a 1.5% increase in revenues from the company’s mobile division. On 30 June the company had 2,116,800 mobile subscribers (excluding M2M), 486,800 landline voice subscribers and 372,300 broadband internet subscribers, making Sunrise the second largest telecoms operator in Switzerland after Swisscom.
