TalkTalk on a walk; broadband operator launches mobile voice service

17 Aug 2012

UK-based TalkTalk, which offers fixed line broadband and voice telephony services, has announced the launch of a mobile voice product exclusively for existing customers. Offered under the ‘TalkTalk Mobile’ banner, the company is promising ‘Britain’s very best smartphone deals’, with prices for the service starting from GBP5 (USD7.85) per month. All handsets will be offered free of charge, with the monthly tariff dependent on both the model chosen, and the tariff selected. Customers can choose from three plans – ‘Small’, ‘Medium’ and ‘Large’ – with these offering differing levels of inclusive minutes, texts and data. The mobile voice product, TalkTalk has confirmed will be offered over the network of Vodafone UK.

Commenting on the introduction of the new service, Tristia Clarke, TalkTalk’s commercial director, said: ‘We want to do in mobile what we did in broadband, and that’s to bring greater competition and choice and offer the best value to our customers.’
