China Mobile building USD122m global network centre in Hong Kong

China Mobile is investing USD122.5 million to construct a global network centre (GNC) in Hong Kong, to serve as a submarine cable landing station and transmission hub, internet data centre, cloud computing centre and global network operation centre, reports TelecomAsia. The 24,000m sq. GNC is expected to be completed in early 2014, and will operate as the base for the group’s international telecoms services by connecting China with the world via existing and new cable systems landed in Hong Kong.
