Taiwanese multi-service provider Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has set out its stall to significantly increase its customer numbers in several sectors, according to CENS.com. The telco has reportedly outlined a number of targets for subscriber growth, including the doubling of those signed up to it mobile internet services to five million within the next five years. In the fixed broadband sector meanwhile CHT is aiming to have some 5.8 million customers on its books within five years, up from the 4.5 million it has presently, with those connected via fibre-optics expected to jump to 2.8 million from just over a million at end-June 2012.
