The total number of people signed up to one of the Netherlands’ mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) rose by 2.1% in the six months to 31 March 2012, to 7.5 million, according to a report in Telecompaper. As a result, at that date MVNOs controlled a 35.9% share of the domestic mobile market the paper reports. The majority of MVNO customers – equivalent to 4.3 million users, or 57.7% of the virtual reseller total – were signed up to virtual brands of the country’s three incumbent mobile network operators KPN Mobile The Netherlands, Vodafone and T-Mobile, while independent MVNOs collectively accounted for 3.2 million customers.
