EPEG launch delayed

7 Aug 2012

The launch of the Europe Persia Express Gateway (EPEG) fibre-optic cable has been delayed. According to Trend News Agency, the reason for postponing the start is due to unavailability of the cable line’s sea segment, which is due to be laid between Iran and Oman. Work on laying the sea segment is expected to be completed within the next two months. The EPEG cable is expected to link Oman and Frankfurt via Iran, Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine and Poland among others.
