Nepal’s national telecom regulator the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has directed privately owned alternative operator United Telecom Limited (UTL) to stop offering basic telecom services in the country, due to an argument over unpaid dues of NPR1.26 billion (USD14.4 million). The NTA has reportedly told the operator to stop all services until it clears its back payments, and has also asked other operators to cut interconnection links with UTL.
