Drillisch Q2 EBITDA climbs 39.6%

German mobile service provider Drillisch has announced it generated revenue of EUR83.4 million (USD102.5 million) in the three months ended 30 June 2012, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year, while service revenue rose 8.3% over the same period from EUR73.5 million to EUR79.6 million. In the first half of 2012 consolidated revenue rose 4.5% and service revenue increased 6.2% to EUR167.6 million and EUR155.0 million, respectively. The company said that earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) climbed 39.6% to EUR18.4 million in the second quarter of 2012 from EUR13.2 million in the year-ago quarter, and leapt 29.3% year-on-year in H1 2012 to EUR33.2 million, the highest in the company’s history.

At 30 June 2012 Drillisch reported a total mobile subscriber base of 1.866 million (down from 2.501 million twelve months earlier), including 1.592 million post-paid customers (an increase of 21% year-on-year) and 274,000 pay-as-you-go users (down from 1.185 million a year earlier, following a clean-up and partial sale of its pre-paid customer accounts base).
