Telecom Argentina has reported consolidated revenues of ARS10.380 billion (USD2.27 billion) for the six months ended 30 June 2012, an increase of 21% from ARS8.584 million in the year-ago period. Consolidated sales were boosted by a 24% year-on-year rise in mobile service revenue to ARS7.503 billion and an increase of 27% in fixed internet turnover to ARS925 million. The company said that operating profit before depreciation and amortisation (OPBDA) reached ARS3.139 billion in the first half of 2012, up 8% from ARS2.905 billion in H1 2011, while net income totalled ARS1.294 billion, an increase of 1% year-on-year. CAPEX was ARS1.345 billion in the first six months of 2012 versus ARS1.076 billion in the year-ago period.
At 30 June 2012 Telecom Argentina reported a total of 18.723 million domestic wireless subscribers, an increase of 8% year-on-year, while the number of mobile and WiMAX customers at its Paraguayan unit Nucleo rose 13% to 2.242 million. Broadband accesses totalled 1.594 million at mid-2012, up 9% from 1.457 million twelve months earlier.
