Vodafone rejigs Cable & Wireless Worldwide management to smooth integration process

31 Jul 2012

Following the completion of the acquisition of Cable & Wireless Worldwide (CWW) and the de-listing of the latter from the London Stock Exchange, British mobile giant Vodafone Group has confirmed five appointments ‘to lead the integration’ of its new subsidiary. Among the executive changes, Vodafone has revealed that the chief executive of Vodafone Global Enterprise, Nick Jeffery, has been appointed as chief executive of CWW, with immediate effect. While the integration of CWW’s commercial and back-office operations will be overseen by Mr Jeffery and Vodafone UK chief executive Guy Laurence, the integration of CWW’s network and technology assets will be overseen by Vodafone Group chief technology officer (CTO) Steve Pusey. Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that CWW’s current CEO, Gavin Darby, will leave the business at the end of October 2012, along with CWW’s current chief financial officer Ian Gibson, acting CTO Dave Broady and acting HR Director Jane Little.

Following an application by CWW to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange, the listing of CWW shares on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and admission to trading on the London Stock Exchange’s main market for listed securities in each case was cancelled with effect from 8:00 a.m. (London time) on 30 July 2012.
