Moldova’s regulator Anrceti has launched a public consultation on the recently published draft document on the use of frequencies in the 2500-2690MHz band; according to the proposals license holders would have the right to use one of the 40MHz sub-bands (i.e. 2500-2520MHz/2620-2640MHz; 2520-2540MHz/2640-2660MHz; and 2540-2560MHz/2660-2680MHz) for the provision of 4G services. The consultation period lasts until 17 August. Anrceti says it currently plans to issue licences for use of the above frequencies to each of the country’s existing mobile operators, Orange, Moldcell and Moldtelecom before 31 December. Concessions will each cost EUR10 million (USD12.3 million) and be valid for 15 years.
