Fido to launch LTE

27 Jul 2012

One year after becoming the first Canadian operator to launch Long Term Evolution (LTE) services, Rogers Communications has confirmed that Fido, its budget brand subsidiary, will begin offering LTE plans within the next few weeks. Fido, acquired by Rogers in 2004, is set to offer LTE services to customers in Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, St John’s, Toronto and Vancouver initially, with more cities to be added before the end of 2012. By the end of the year Fido’s LTE coverage will encompass approximately 58% of Canada’s population.
