Emaxx rolls out Ethernet services with BTI platform

12 Jul 2012

US-based BTI Systems has announced that it has supplied its integrated packet optical platform to Cambodian WiMAX operator Emaxx for a range of Ethernet services. The deal will enable Emaxx to provide WiMAX, mobile backhaul, international private leased circuit/domestic private leased circuit (IPLC)/(DPLC) connections and Ethernet business line services over a high capacity 10Gbps metro Ethernet ring. Emaxx will initially roll out its services in the capital of Phnom Penh, before deploying services to other parts of the country. ‘Our mission is to provide a national, high quality, 4G communications network service for internet and multimedia applications, including commerce, entertainment and education for the development of Cambodia,’ said Sean Ngu, CEO of Emaxx, adding: ‘We required a single, unified platform to support our entire services offering and meet our transport requirements for mobile backhaul and high performance Ethernet business line services. With BTI, we chose solutions that are cost effective, scalable, reliable, provide low latency, and are MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum) certified, enabling us to compete aggressively.’
