NetOne upgrades billing and customer care systems

The Zimbabwean cellular operator NetOne has ordered a new USD3.5 million billing and customer care system from the Finnish software vendor Tecnotree. The new system will be rolled out under a phased contract, with deployment to be completed by the end of this year. The full solution will incorporate customer management, service provision, mediation and billing, as well as a system for interconnect billing and partner management. State-owned NetOne claimed around 16% of Zimbabwe’s 9.8 million mobile users at the end of March 2012, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
