Bouygues Telecom to drop Simyo pre-paid brand in France

French cellular network operator Bouygues Telecom is set to drop its low-cost pre-paid brand Simyo, so that all of its operations come under the Bouygues Telecom banner. Bouygues Telecom acquired mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Simyo from Dutch telco KPN in December 2011. Simyo had around 180,000 customers at end-2011, but the change in branding will have little effect on subscribers as Simyo already uses the Bouygues network for connectivity.
