Cableco Telemach enters mobile market over Tusmobil network

15 Jun 2012

Slovenia’s largest cableco Telemach has launched a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service, completing a quadruple-play range of TV, internet, fixed line and mobile telephony. Telemach announced that its new mobile service, which is delivered over the network of the country’s third-placed cellular operator Tusmobil, is aimed at signing up existing customers of its triple-play range as well as brand new subscribers. It plans to steal users from rival cellular service providers by offering ‘simple and understandable’ packages. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, HFC-based cable operator Telemach is currently Slovenia’s third largest provider of broadband internet services and has the second biggest fixed voice services user base, although in both cases it is narrowly vying for market position with quadruple-play (VDSL/FTTx, IPTV, VoIP and 3G cellular) network operator T-2.
