6 Jun 2012

The Ministry of Communications (MoC) in Kuwait is threatening non-paying customers with disconnection if overdue accounts are not settled. As reported in CommsUpdate last week, the MoC is owed KWD112.8 million (USD400 million) in unpaid bills. The Ministry, which acts as both the country’s telecoms regulator and monopoly fixed line telephone operator, is writing to defaulters with an initial warning on 10 June. A second reminder will be issued on 18 June, and disconnections will begin on 24 June for accounts that remain overdue, Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reports.
