Brazil’s telecoms regulator Anatel says that a number of leading players have notified it of their desire to bid for 4G mobile frequencies when the process kicks off on 12 June. According to the watchdog, Vivo Participacoes, TIM Participacoes (TIM Brasil), Telecom Americas (Claro) and Sky Brasil Servicos are among the groups to have filed the required documents as well as their price proposals. The government of Brazil is hoping to raise BRL3.85 billion (USD1.9 billion) from the auction, says Anatel president Joao Batista Rezende.
