According to BNamericas citing local press reports, Colombia will launch a tender for 4G concessions in June, with spectrum awarded by September. Oscar Leon, head of the national spectrum agency, revealed that ten companies have expressed an interest in participating, including local operators Comcel, Movistar, Tigo, UNE and ETB, as well as international operators such as Nextel, Entel and companies from Peru and India. 225MHz of 4G spectrum is expected to be awarded to at least four operators.
