Time Warner Cable’s internet sales up 9.6%

US cableco Time Warner Cable has reported that its revenues for the first quarter of 2012 increased by 6.4% compared to a year earlier, to USD5.1 billion. Residential service revenues increased 4.1% year-on-year to USD4.4 billion, and business service turnover grew 37.5% to USD429 million. High speed internet/data revenues increased by 9.6% to USD1.2 billion. Sales in January-March 2012 benefited from the acquisitions of Insight Communications Company (on 9 February 2012), and cable systems owned by NewWave Communications (during the fourth quarter of 2011) and NaviSite Inc (during the second quarter of 2011). Net subscriber additions during Q1 2012 included an increase in residential high speed internet connections from 9.954 million to 10.716 million, and a rise in residential voice telephony lines from 4.544 million to 4.945 million.
