Entel trials 3.5GHz LTE

Chilean wireless and broadband provider Entel Chile has begun conducting trials of Long Term Evolution (LTE) using its 100MHz of spectrum in the 3.5GHz range, reports RCR Wireless. The aims of the tests is to examine the feasibility of using the technology to target SMEs, complementing existing ADSL and fibre-based services. Head of innovation and development at Entel, Eduardo Duran said that there were drawbacks, however, from using the 3.5GHz band, with services suffering indoors.
