Rwanda’s newest cellular operator Airtel has agreed to a deal to acquire mobile tower infrastructure from bankrupt telco Rwandatel. Airtel paid RWF9.3 billion (USD15.5 million) for the assets, AllAfrica reports. Airtel launched commercial services earlier this month, joining incumbent operators MTN and Millicom (Tigo) in a market which served more than four million subscribers at the end of 2011.
