UPC upgrades former Aster infrastructure

US-backed cableco UPC Poland has upgraded its broadband network in Zielona Gora, acquired as part of its takeover of Aster, to EuroDOCSIS 3.0, offering customers there theoretical download speeds of up to 150Mbps. UPC’s Fiber Power 150 plan offers speeds of up to 150Mbps (downlink) and 10Mbps (uplink) for PLN150 (USD46.98) with a PLN100 activation fee. In its press release, the Liberty Global subsidiary noted that approximately 90% of its networks had been upgraded to the EuroDOCSIS 3.0 standard.
