Ghana wins African internet speed test

The US-based internet diagnostics firm Ookla has ranked Ghana as Africa’s number one country for internet download speeds. Ghana’s main internet service providers (ISPs) accounted for an average broadband speed of 5.13Mbps in speed tests, local news source Joy Online reports. Kenya was in second place with an average downlink transmission speed of 4.49Mbps, while South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco, Angola, Tunisia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Libya were also in the top ten. In global rankings, Ghana was in 72nd position, with Lithuania in first place with an average download speed of 31.67Mbps.
