Alcatel-Lucent to roll out 3G network for CNT

13 Mar 2012

Alcatel-Lucent has announced the deployment of a new 3G network for Corporacion Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT) in Ecuador, in order to meet the rising demand for mobile broadband connectivity across the country and to provide a range of applications to the operator’s wireless subscribers. Under the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will design and deploy a complete end-to-end 3G W-CDMA network in the Pacific coastal and southern area of Ecuador. The vendor will work with CNT to deliver fixed and mobile services, and to extend its network with the aiming of providing nationwide coverage. The new mobile network will enable CNT to be the first in the country to offer its customers ‘converged’ services that can be accessed from both their fixed and mobile devices, at home or on the go.
