Everything Everywhere seeks permission to launch 1800MHz LTE

12 Mar 2012

Everything Everywhere has declared that it is ready to launch 4G services in the UK before the end of 2012, providing regulator Ofcom permits it to re-farm 2G spectrum. The cellco says that it is deploying HSPA+ during the next six months, and then hopes to deploy Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology in the 1800MHz band, depending on the outcome of a request it made in January to Ofcom seeking permission to do this. The watchdog said it would consider the application in the first quarter of this year.
