MTNL launches FTTH services

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), India’s third largest internet service provider (ISP) by subscribers, has announced the launch of its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service in Mumbai and New Delhi. According to the Economic Times, MTNL hopes to sign up 15,000 customers to the service over the next six months, and expects ARPU from FTTH users to be around INR700 (USD14.15). The company plans to include additional services to its fibre-based offerings, such as voice-over-IP (VoIP) and IPTV, enabling it to offer multi-play bundles.
