Alca-Lu and China Mobile ink co-creation deal

29 Feb 2012

China Mobile and Alcatel-Lucent have signed a co-creation agreement to accelerate the development of ‘lightning fast’ mobile broadband services. Under the terms of the agreement, the two will conduct joint development and test activities on a series of lightRadio projects. According to a press release from the French-US vendor, Alca-Lu’s lightRadio solution ‘reduces the size of traditional mobile base stations to a Rubik’s cube, while lowering power-consumption and allowing the transfer of vast amounts of data at lightning fast speeds.’ The contract builds on an earlier agreement between the two groups to collaborate on the development of Time Division Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) technology.
