Digicel offers a first for Antigua & Barbuda; integrated billing via BlackBerry

22 Feb 2012

Digicel’s mobile operation in Antigua & Barbuda has announced that it is the first service provider in the twin island state to offer integrated carrier billing via BlackBerry App World. Caribseek News writes that Digicel users will now be able to charge their application purchases from BlackBerry’s e-store directly to their Digicel monthly phone bill or using their Digicel pre-paid credit. The Digicel service, which was launched in Panama for pre-paid customers in late 2011, is now available for mobile subscribers for the first time in Antigua & Barbuda.

TeleGeography notes that Antigua & Barbuda was home to an estimated 187,200 mobile users at the end of September 2011, of which Digicel had the largest share.
