Wataniya halves net losses in 2011

The Palestinian cellular operator Wataniya Palestine Mobile Telecommunications Company has more than halved its net losses in the year to 31 December 2011, with losses falling from USD56.2 million in 2010 to USD26.2 million last year. In a release to the Palestine Exchange, Wataniya said the total assets of the company fell 18% in 2011 to reach USD288.5 million. Wataniya is the second largest cellular operator in the Palestinian Territory, with around 450,000 subscribers and a 14% market share at end-2011.
