Free Mobile is too cheap say resellers

14 Feb 2012

The newest French cellular service provider Free Mobile, which is part of the Iliad Group, has angered an industry body with its low-cost offers for consumers. Alternative Mobile, a group which represents France’s mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), says that Free Mobile is advertising end-user tariffs which are actually cheaper than its wholesale rates. The MVNO group has called on telecoms regulator Arcep to intervene as Free Mobile is thought to be in contravention of its 3G licence terms. Free Mobile won France’s fourth 3G concession in December 2009 and launched in January 2012.
