SunWireless to provide wireless coverage for Skopje, Ohrid airports

13 Feb 2012

Macedonian wireless internet service provider (ISP) SunWireless has struck a deal to become the exclusive provider of wireless internet access for the Turkish-owned airport operator TAV Macedonia. The long-term deal, which covers the airports in the capital Skopje and Ohrid, was signed on 26 January 2012, according to a statement on the ISP’s web site. The wireless provider was originally set up in 1999 as Anic-Sistemi, with a primary focus on providing ICT services. As the company grew though, its service portfolio also expanded, and it began working on system integration and network infrastructures. In 2007 Anic-Sistemi switched its focus to wireless network communications and rolled out a pilot project, before offering services commercially over a national network in 2008 the brand name SunWireless. Skopje-based SunWireless says it is currently expanding its network in all major cities in Macedonia.
