TDC shareholders mull sale

9 Feb 2012

The owners of the Danish telco TDC are reportedly looking to sell off part of their stake. Private equity firms Apax Partners, Blackstone Group, KKR & Co, Permira Advisers and Providence Equity Partners, which together call themselves Nordic Telephone Company (NTC), may reduce their interest in the operator via a block sale of shares in the next few months, Bloomberg reports. The five companies currently hold 59.1% of TDC’s shares, having already reduced their combined stake from 87.9% via an offering in December 2010. The news portal cites an unnamed source who claims that the NTC partners are currently watching markets and will consider a sale if TDC’s share price rises from the current level of DKK44.90 (USD8) to nearer its December 2010 value of DKK51.
