Monaco Telecom International (MTI) has signed a deal to continue providing mobile services to Kosovo’s state-owned telco Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo (PTK), which offers wireless services under the ‘Vala’ brand name. According to a press release from MTI, it provides PTK with roaming and mobile content services, operational support as well as managing its international traffic. Commenting on the decision to extend the agreement, MTI chief executive Martin Peronnet said: ‘We are delighted to continue our partnership with PTK. The signing of this contract is a great step for Monaco Telecom and the recognition of a great team effort working with PTK. Over time we have built a very solid business partnership.’
MTI invests in and provides services to operators in developing markets and has been a partner to PTK since the end of the Kosovo conflict in 1999. PTK currently claims around 1.2 million wireless subscribers.
