Brazilian regional telecoms operator Sercomtel hopes to use satellite DTH technology to launch its first pay-TV service by August 2012, company president Roberto Coutinho informed BNamericas. ‘We’re just waiting for the approval of our licence from Anatel to start offering DTH pay-TV services. We already have the technology to deploy the service,’ he said. The telco is active only in the southern state of Parana where it delivers a range of fixed and mobile voice, and fixed broadband services across 16 cities.
