Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has unveiled a new common brand for its fixed and wireless communication services, the Times of Oman reports. ‘Our new brand is more than an enhanced logo and represents an exciting opportunity to show our customers what we stand for and what makes us different as a provider of fixed, mobile and internet services for consumers,’ noted Haitham Al Kharusi, VP of Omantel’s Consumer unit. ‘Omantel takes this opportunity to leverage [Omantel and Oman Mobile’s] strengths and join together as one so that we may move even faster towards our long term vision as well as do what’s in the best interest of our customers, existing shareholders and investors,’ he added. As previously reported by CommsUpdate, the planned merger of Omantel with its wireless unit Oman Mobile was approved at an extraordinary general meeting in October last year, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and enhancing customer experience.
