Multimedia Polska reaps rewards of multi-play success

Polish cableco Multimedia Polska (MP) ended 2011 with over 400,000 broadband subscribers, and 195,000 pay-TV customers, according to a press release from the company. MP reported 1.5 million revenue generating units (RGUs) at year-end, an increase of 10.8% year-on-year. The cableco noted that the number of subscribers choosing multi-play packages continued to rise in 2011: 106,000 subscribers were signed up to triple-play deals, an increase of 8.5% y-o-y, whilst the number of double-play customers increased by 3.2% to 242,000. In Q4 2011, the average number of services taken per customer was 2.06, compared to 1.94 in 2010 and 1.83 the year before. The success of bundled packages saw the number of fixed line telephony subscribers increase to 244,000 at end-December 2011, up 8.4% y-o-y.
